Group Energy Transition Process Engineer

Missions essentielles

As  Energy Transition Process Engineer, based from Antwerp, you will support the acceleration & implementation of  decarbonisation technologies firstly in Europe and then around the world with a strong focus on preparing the sites for the change in heating technology & guiding/educating them in the new way of working.

You will support the Group Utility Technology Manager in the engineering phase of the different decarbonisation technologies & will take the lead (together with the PM Energy)  in the commissioning of the new installations. Most importantly you will also be responsible to  follow up the already commissioned low carbon utility installations on performance & uptime. You will report efficiencies & uptime of the new utility installations on a standardised manner to the business.

You will embed procedures & maintenance plans within the organisation with a strong focus on the  standardisation of the future low carbon global utility park.

Your responsibilities:

  • Supporting role in the engineering phase of the new decarbonisation technologies
  • Leading role (together with the PM Energy)  in the commissioning of the new low carbon utilities
  • Leading role to embed the new technology at site level : Bring the change & train the local staff to maintain / follow up  the low carbon utility equipment
  1. Foresee the necessary training to local staff.
  2. Make SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)  for maintenance & Operations;
  3. Make a preventive maintenance plan together with the local team  (& support to have all documentation in Massimo);
  4. Make certain the installations are compliant with local laws;
  5. Report the efficiencies & uptime of the utility installations to the business.
  • Oversee the standardisation the low carbon utility equipment over all the sites & make certain we have per region the necessary critical spare parts available.
  • Main contact point of the sites related to maintenance, uptime & efficiencies of the new low carbon utilities.
  • Projects will include various technologies for  decarbonisation of heat as well as water related solutions to reduce the water consumption of our production. Knowledge of or even better experience with water and waste water treatment/conditioning comes as a plus.

Profil / Compétences requises

  • You have 6 years experience in Engineer in electromechanics / energy or an engineer with relevant experience in the topic.
  • Experience in thermodynamics & utilities.
  • Led (or was part of) several utility projects from engineering till commissioning phase.
  • Successfully made SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) & Maintenance plans for utility installations in full collaboration with the site.
  • Soft skills to bring change management & embed a new utility technology at site level.
  • "Hands on mentality"
  • Experience in automation (SCADA, PID loops, etc.)Strong foundation in project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2 and Agile, is highly beneficial.
  • You speak and write fluently English
  • Your are skilled with Autocad, visio, excel, word
  • Historian database knowledge is a plus (PI historian).
  • Up to  30-50% travel is expected within Europe in the first 3 years. Hereafter travel is expected outside of Europe.
