HR & Communication Manager Ethiopia

Missions essentielles

Join our team as the HR & Communication Manager for Ethiopia, based in either Debre Bihran or Addis Abeba. In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of implementing our HR and internal communication strategies across all Boortmalt facilities in Ethiopia. Reporting directly to the GM of Ethiopia and working closely with the Chief People and Communication Officer, you will oversee all aspects of human resource practices and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with our group strategy and business objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include providing advisory and support to managers and supervisors in their daily people management tasks and business project development. You will ensure the proper implementation and follow-up of HR and communication initiatives in the region, manage employee relations and industrial relations, and ensure legal compliance in all people-related matters. From recruitment and onboarding to performance evaluations and terminations, you will manage all HR processes and oversee the payroll of all Boortmalt employees and outsourced staffing.

You will also assess training needs, plan and monitor training programs, and select training providers to meet the company's demands. Additionally, you will supervise and train HR team members, provide effective internal communication on HR topics, and implement communication initiatives in the region. With full ownership of the HR budget, you will develop and implement HR reporting systems, analyze cost variances, and promote well-being activities to build the company's culture and values.

As an ambassador of the Boortmalt culture, you will frequently travel to all locations of operation, support local teams, and monitor local labor markets to propose and drive necessary changes. Your goal will be to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and retention, making Boortmalt the best place to work and strengthening our employer brand.

Profil / Compétences requises

  • Master' degree in HR or labour law or relevant by experience
  • Minimal 5 years experience as an HR Manager
  • A proven and strong experience in international operational and multi site HR role
  • Proven experience in a multicultural environment handling change processes
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Team player and good organizational and leadership capabilities
  • Experience with payroll and time registration tools (ADP, Kronos, ... )
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the Ethiopian labour law is required.
  • Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
