Silo Supervisor

Missions essentielles

We are hiring a Silo Supervisor to manage daily grain and malt silo operations.


This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality handling of raw materials, supporting continuous production and delivery. Your responsibilities include:

  • Grain & malt handling:  You ensure grain and malt are received, stored and moved correctly, following safety and quality standards.
  • Food safety & quality: You follow HACCP, GMP and company rules, and check regularly that everything meets these standards.
  • Blending accuracy: You oversee the blending process and make sure it matches production needs and quality targets.
  • Silo level management:  You monitor stock levels and coordinate with production and logistics to keep materials available on time.
  • Operational efficiency: You look for improvements to keep operations running smoothly, reduce downtime and avoid waste.
  • Team leadership:  You lead, train and support the silo team. You organise shifts and ensure safe and efficient work.
  • Maintenance coordination:  You work with maintenance teams to keep equipment in good condition.
  • Reporting: You keep records up to date (stock, blending, safety checks, incidents) and report to management.

Profil / Compétences requises

  • Proven experience in silo operations, grain handling, or a related field (2+ years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality control procedures
  • Leadership experience with the ability to train and motivate teams, experience in a unionized setting is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills · Proficiency in using silo monitoring systems and inventory management tools
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Must be able to work in environments with variable temperatures, including partial outdoor work and dusty conditions
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required · Requires Near/Far, Depth and Colour vision
